WASHINGTON DC, February 21, 2013 – Get ready for a night of mayhem and fun, with strong women, colorful characters, and in-your-face girl power— all for a great cause. This Saturday night, the women of the D.C. Ladies Arm Wrestling (DCLAW) will be hosting the Decennial BRAWL at Penn Social in NW Washington DC.
The event will raise money for Critical Exposure, a nonprofit that teaches young people to use photography as a tool for youth empowerment, public engagement, and to effect real change in their lives and communities.

DCLAW is part of CLAW, a national not-for-profit alliance of theatrical women arm wrestlers raising money for charity founded in 2008 in Charlottesville, VA. There are currently CLAW leagues in 18 U.S. cities, and the movement is taking off around the country.
DCLAW began in 2010 and has held nine events in the DC area, raising $34,650 for various charities including DC’s House of Ruth, the Service Women’s Action Network, and the DC Firefighter’s Burn Foundation.
DC professionals by day, the ladies of DCLAW transform into their tough-talking, butt-kicking alter egos for the events. With previous contestants wrestling under the names Holly Gofightly, Jenny Krueger, Amy Smackhouse, Ms. Fire, and Purple Passion, Saturday’s bout promises a night of colorful characters and fun in the name of charity.
The event will take place at Penn Social, tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance here.
