Wells On Baseball Prospect Watch: National League

During spring training, Wells On Baseball selected two prospects to watch out for on each team. What have those prospects done this year? Photo: Yasiel Puig/AP

LOS ANGELES, July 2, 2013 — Yasiel Puig has arguably had one of the best first 26 games to start a career in modern baseball history. Fans in Los Angeles are lobbying for him to be added to the All-Star team. His torrid pace is one that is most likely to be corrected, at least to some extent, by the baseball monster that is known in as regression toward the mean.

If and when Puig’s numbers get corrected remains to be seen. While 26 games is too small of a sample to warrant All-Star consideration, Yasiel Puig has provided a huge spark to a lifeless Dodger team.
