Republican judge saves Sarah Murnaghan from death panel bureaucrats

LOS ANGELES, June 4, 2013 — Ten year old Sarah Murnaghan has been given a chance to see her twelfth birthday thanks to Republican Judge Michael M. Baylson.

Thank God Judge Baylson intervened.

The liberal media will never report that Judge Baylson is a Ronald Reagan appointee reappointed by George W. Bush. While Obama and Sebelius Democrats dithered, Republicans made an effort to save a human life.

He looked beyond the books thatprohibit a child under age twelve from receiving an adult lung. Murnaghan has cystic fibrosis. Without a lung transplant, she could die within weeks.

Some doctors say a child’s body cannot handle an adult lung, hence the rule, while other equally respected physicians disagree. Murnaghan’s doctors say regardless she will not make it to age twelve without a lung right now.

This is where the rubber of the law meets the road of common sense. Attempting to save Murnaghan’s life should have been the easiest political decision ever made.

Not even the most heartless, brainless, bureaucrat could foul this up.

The man who took time congratulating Jason Collins took no action. The man who claimed Trayvon Martin could have been his son failed to grasp that Sarah Murnaghan is somebody’s daughter.

Obama is the most powerful person in the world, and he uses that power as it suits him.

Obama could have issued an executive order. He could have granted a waiver, as he did with his union cronies unwilling to suffer under Obamacare. He is a liberal, and every liberal knows how to piously bend, if not break, laws as long as “it’s for the children.”

Obama is the man who responds to any resistance with, “I won.” When Republicans object, he says, “If Congress won’t act, I will.”

When trying to sound reasonable, he says, “We have to remove dumb regulations.”

Obama once said he needed to know where mistakes were made so he could “find out whose [bottom] to kick.”

This situation was tailor made for Obama. He should have banged his fist on the table, ordered Sebelius to make it happen, and then take his victory laps for doing what any decent person would do.

As for Health and (secret email) Human Services Obamacare Czarina Kathleen Sebelius, she showed what happens when cold, bureaucratic government procedures trump human beings.

She falsely claimed powerlessness to change the law or grant an exemption. She refused to meet or speak with the parents.

Instead, Obama and Sebelius proved that Sarah Palin was right. There absolutely are “death panels,” and we almost had the first victim.

As for the nameless, faceless bureaucrats, we know their names, faces, and political ideology.

Judge Baylson delivered the common sense solution. While his decision can be appealed, no Obama liberal wants to make that politically suicidal decision.

Obama sycophants will be more interested in public relations, so let the predictable defensive posture be exposed now.

“You Republicans don’t care about this girl. You are exploiting her for political purposes.”

This is not about abortion or euthanasia, where passions and science split Americans in half. Those are the hard choices.

Sarah Murnaghan was the easiest choice. Only the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and the rest of the Wizard of Oz could get this one wrong.

With help from God, Sarah Murnaghan will make it to age twelve.
