Gay Seattle leftists physically assault Christians

Gay Seattle leftists physically assaulted Christians odiously but peacefully protesting against gays. Will the media stand up? Will gays? Photo: Wikimedia Commons

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 16, 2013 — In another round of liberal violence last week, Seattle leftists spent the day acting like Seattle leftists. When anti-gay protesters dared to disagree with the politically correct agenda, gay rights activists physically assailed them.

The anti-gay protesters were carrying horrible signs. They referred to gays as sinners. Most people would find such speech degrading, dehumanizing and downright offensive.

In a decent society, it is that very indecent speech that deserves First Amendment protection the most.

One does not need to create hypothetical examples about how liberals would react if the roles were reversed. An actual example of evil exists in the form of the late Matthew Shepard. For merely being gay, Shepard was beaten to death by homophobic monsters. Justice for the murderers was severe, as it should have been.

Shepard was an innocent victim, while the two anti-gay activists in Seattle were clearly agitators. However, they were protesting peacefully. They did not cross the line into violence. Videotapes of their conduct showed them to be boorish, bigoted and calm. Call them “awful, but lawful.”

As for the gay rights protesters, one of them had nine previous arrests for bad behavior. These thugs may face justice, but the double standard still exists.

Will this be treated as a hate crime, or does that only apply when protected minorities are the victims?

Will the gay rights movement apologize to the victims?

When gay rights advocates rightfully insist that a few bad actors should not tar an entire movement of good people, will they extend that same charitable view toward the millions of traditional values Christians peacefully disagreeing with their agenda?

Will the media point out that most actual political violence in America comes from the left, while conservatives conduct themselves peacefully?

For those on the left who truly believe that the ends justify the means, a reality check is in order.

There is no Constitutional right to violent protest. None. It never existed.

The Civil Rights marches in the 1960s succeeded because Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. protested peacefully. He and his supporters sang “We shall overcome” while those favoring segregation resorted to violence to preserve segregation. King won the struggle and became a hero because any reasonable person could see that he was the good guy fighting for justice the right way against an intolerable evil.

Leftists in America today have substituted the bigotry of the past with ideological bigotry. Conservatives are seen as evil, and therefore no amount of bad behavior is too extreme.

From domestic terrorists such as Bill Ayers to Occupy Wall Street mobs to rabble rousers such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, the left has never renounced instigating violence as a way of achieving goals.

The left’s behavior is not a case of isolated incidents. It is a pattern that happens with such frequency that violence can at this point be considered typical.

Seattle is a hotbed of liberalism, and a hotbed of leftist violence. From World Trade Organization meetings to anti-gay gatherings, any behavior to the right of Leon Trotsky sparks outrage.

The right has been bullied for far too long, and at some point there could be a backlash. The left will wonder why, but as Jeremiah Wright once said, it would be the “chickens coming home to roost.”

No decent person in America wants this war. If the leftist Seattle zealots were decent human beings, they would not want it either.

The actions in Seattle spoke for themselves, as loudly as can be.
