LOS ANGELES, August 23, 2013 — Despite being convicted of murder, Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan is the victor. Americans cannot feel good abot the results. Thirteen are dead. More have had their lives changed.
In the name of Islam, Hasan declared war on America, and he won.
Hasan was motivated by radical Islam, and his trial sends a message to Islamists around the world: As long as liberal Democrats are in power, it is open season on Americans and Westerners everywhere.
The liberals who called out radical Islam remain marginalized among the left. The late Christopher Hitchens, former Prime Minister Tony Blair, and retired Senator Joseph Lieberman were the rare liberals with the courage to call evil by its real name.
For many leftists, Hasan was guilty of nothing more than “workplace violence.”
Hasan declared himself a soldier of Allah. Yet President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder still refuse to do so. Some liberals will actually claim that the system worked, since Hasan was convicted.
The system did not work. Every step of the way, the system failed. Liberalism replaced sanity with political correctness. Liberalism forced the military to place feelings over saving lives.
If liberals do not want to be blamed for getting innocent people killed, then the solution is for them to stop allowing innocent people to be killed.
Thirteen people were murdered because a known threat was allowed to stay in his job, despite “red flags.” Thirteen people were murdered because negative job evaluations were ignored. Even when those in authority were troubled.”
Thirteen people were murdered because obsession with diversity and multiculturalism prevented the military from removing a lunatic and isolating him from the general population.
More people will be murdered because Obama, Holder, and their supporters care more about protecting a discredited narrative than in saving lives. The liberal obsession with being right prevents admitting and correcting wrongs and actually doing right.
Al Qaeda is not on the run. They have not been decimated. They have spread throughout the globe. The names of the organizations may change, but the purpose is the same.
Hasan was a radical Islamic terrorist. He should have been treated as a terrorist the minute his rantings were discovered.
The neoconservative, George W. Bush concept of preemptive war was derided by liberals as barbaric. Well now we have tried the politically correct sensitivity approach.
Thirteen people in Texas were murdered by real barbarism motivated by radical Islam.
Hasan was the triggerman, but he had political enablers. If leftists want to stop being accused of coddling Islamists, then they should stop coddling Islamists. Refusing to honestly label events is making excuses.
A guilty verdict is not a victory for the system. Victory was gone the moment these murders happened.
If the left truly wants to make a difference, they should start by acknowledging that radical Islam was the direct cause of the Fort Hood murders. After admitting that radical Islam exists, the military should be allowed to treat future Hasans as terrorists, not criminals. This is not a law enforcement matter.
In other words, the left will have to change everything they believe on this issue, because what they believe on this issue has been thoroughly discredited.
The left can shriek about conservatives “playing politics” with this issue, but the people who played politics were those who allowed Hasan to remain free after knowing he was a powder keg ready to explode.
The system failed. Evil triumphed over good. Future Jihadists will continue to terrorize Americans as long as they know that the government will punish them after the fact without ever admitting what motivates unholy warriors.
Fort Hood was completely preventable. The failure to prevent it was a defeat.
The next defeat is around the corner. Meanwhile, liberals will remain more offended over accusations of enabling Islamists than in stopping them.
The results of the dead bodies speak for themselves, and yell much louder than liberals howling in protest to the contrary.
