SAN DIEGO, March 24, 2012 –  All 12 celebrities are working hard on their second dance performance for Week 2 of the 2012 season of “Dancing With the Stars.” The couples will dance either a Jive or a Quickstep on the show Monday, March 26, on the ABC Television Network. Then the audience will finally get their chance to vote, and one celebrity will go home on Tuesday night, March 27.

Communities has learned the dance assignments for this coming week.

Dancing the Jive (in no particular order): Martina Navratilova, Katherine Jenkins, Sherri Shepherd, Jack Wagner, Jaleel White and Gavin DeGraw.

Dancing the Quick Step (again, not necessarily in order): Melissa Gilbert, Maria Menounos, William Levy, Donald Driver, Gladys Knight, and Roshon Fegan.

The fingers of many competing celebrities are just as busy as their twinkle toes. More than ever this season, most of the Dancing With the Stars participants are active on social media, especially Twitter, Facebook, and specialty blog sites. It’s smart promotion; it’s part of the fun and it gives the fans a thrill. They love to read about the behind the scenes gossip and be treated to photos personally posted by one of the stars or dancers in between the broadcasts.

We’ve gathered some of our favorites from Twitter and some Instagrams here. We’ll post new ones every weekend through the season, so be sure to keep following our coverage at Communities @Washington Times.

Dancing With The Stars has plenty of big name celebrity fans. It didn’t seem possible to top seeing Cher in the audience last season, but another megastar slipped into the audience on Monday. Britney Spears revealed her attendance to her 14 million Twitter followers after the show on Monday, and read who she’s cheering on:

Britney Spears tweets Roshon Fegan after his performance Monday night on Dancing With The Stars.

For his part, Roshon responded he was pleased to meet Britney and thanked her for the support. If she encourages even a fraction of her Twitter followers to vote, Roshon will get a real boost in the results.

“Dancing With the Stars” returns on Monday night, March 26, 8 p.m. Eastern/Pacific Time, on the ABC Television Network.

Share Dancing with the Stars Week 2 as we Live Chat the show, talk about the dances, the dancers and the costumes! Check Communities @WashingtonTimes.com for the link to the chat this Monday evening.
