Not sure I get why … but it’s on
So a few years ago, viewers rose up and demanded that the knuckleheads at CBS at least play out the string for an ill-fated post-apocalyptic show called “Jericho.” Programmers ended the first season on a cliff-hanger, then canceled it. Not smart. Fans sent tons of peanuts (a reference to a line in the show) to save it. I indeed spent my own money on the campaign. And we got the show back for a final season.
That was one thing. Word spread pretty much by email. Now, with Twitter and Facebook behind it, a new campaign is on to get 103-year-old actress Betty White on Saturday Night Live.
Why? No idea. Who started it? No idea. Is it a good idea? No idea.

The cynic in me says some sharp folks at NBC’s publicity arm put this together themselves for a May Sweeps SNL with Betty White. The realist in me says NBC isn’t that sharp.
But honestly, it’s so random. Thoughts?
Here’s Betty White in the Super Bowl commercial folks were talking about …
And here she is calling Sarah Palin something unpleasant …
