Brooklyn Bridge shut down as abandoned car inspected

WASHINGTON, May 27, 2013 – No license plates, no vin number, no passengers.  What looks to be a dark blue SUV has shut the Brooklyn Bridge down.

The SUV has been abandoned on the incoming side of the Brooklyn Bridge. Traffic in both directions was halted while technicians inspected the car and a bomb sniffing dog, that appears to be of the Irish Setter breed, has cleared the vehicle of explosives.

At this time no explosives seem to be on the car and it may be nothing more than an abandoned vehicle.
