Is it your understanding or your body?

Just how capable are you?

Do you ever feel like you understand the golf swing but still can’t do it?

Many times when taking a lesson we understand what the instructor is asking us to do, but we can’t get our bodies to do it. Breakdowns in the golf swing are sometimes due to lack of flexibility or physical restrictions. Do you stretch before playing or practicing? Do you know your range of motion?

There are many golf fitness programs like TPI – (Titleist Performance Institute), The Golf Athlete with Rob Neal & Michael Dalgleish or Perform Better Golf by Mike Pedersen just to mention a few. You could test yourself with a couple simple flexibility screenings like your ability to touch your toes or do a deep squat keeping your heels on the ground. Lets just say you could not touch your toes, then you would have a tendency to loose your original posture tilt to the golf ball in the backswing. Your friends tell you to KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL AND STAY DOWN when physically you can’t maintain that posture due to lack of flexibility! We don’t have to run to the gym, but simple and proper stretching, yoga and pilates will benefit you more than you realize. If you want to take your game to another level, consider a professional testing your flexibility and range of motion. It has the potential to greatly enhance your golf performance!
