WASHINGTON, February  10, 2011 — Fulfilling the need to create the perfect bit of romance this Valentines day, hotels, resorts and bed and breakfasts are offering plenty of chocolate and temptation to bring you, and the one you love, to your destination.

To make the grade, each of these properties offers early check-in, a bit of bubbly in the room, in-room breakfast and a late check-out.

Hilton Hotel’s Worldwide will be offering a year long romance package through December 31, 2011 filled with the aforementioned amenities, including a free lunch or dinner entrée with the purchase of an entrée and a stay of two or more nights. .

Visit Hilton Quebec and enjoy views of St. Lawrence River, the Parliament or the Laurentian Mountains in this international hotel.  The Allegro Restaurant and Bar offers a chic spot to enjoy a pre-dinner menu prior to enjoying the restaurant’s extensive menu, which features both local and international cuisine choices in a decidedly modern environment.

Romance and history run strong in Delaware and the Historic BrandyWine valley. During the day, romance your love while taking a leisurely stroll through the exquisite Orchard Extravaganza (thorugh March 27) at Longwood Gardens, wherein colorful and exotic orchids transform the conservatory into a fragrantly romantic oasis.

Reservations at Delaware’s Harry’s Seafood Restaurant will ensure a fun, lively dinner filled with the freshest of oysters on the half shell and other delicacies from the sea.  Harry’s is offering a Valentine’s Day three-course celebration dinner as well as their regular menu.

Harry’s offers numerous incredible dishes, but when I go, it’s for the oysters on the half-shell with perfect chilled olive martinis at the bar followed by Harry’s signature “Grand Seafood Plateau,” a chilled stand overflowing with oysters, mussels, shrimp, crab and lobster.

When at Harry’s, ensure the perfect meal and ask Manager Daniel Werner for the perfect wine pairing for your diner.

Choose the Fairville Inn Bed and Breakfast and enjoy the privacy of an elegent suite located just minutes from the romantic Longwood Gardens and the Winterthur Museum and Country Estate; both exquisetely romantic places to spend the day.

The Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and sits on five beautiful acres.  The Main House, where innkeeper Rick Carro whips up an incredible breakfast replete with homemade jams and freshly made juices, offers five rooms, but to get away from the rest of the world request one of the Carriage House Suites with private decks and panoramic meadow views.

Rooms are romantically appointed with canopied beds and working fireplaces; just make sure you request the amenities that are important to you.

Valentines’ packages include luscious Chocolate truffles, Chocolate-dipped strawberries and your choice of Champagne or Wine delivered to the room.

When I want to find woodland peace and luxury combined with the convenience of being close to Washington, D.C., I choose Nemacolin Woodslands Resort. From incredible accomodations in the Chataeu or the ultra-luxe and  chic Falling Rock, Nemacolin is for those with taste the discriminates from the everyday.

The Woodlands Spa offers world class services as well as restorative steam rooms and whirlpools. Property acitivties include snowsports, outdoor adventure  and the Wildlife Academy, with its exotic and regional animals.  Also look for the Safari Tour filled with lions, tigers and bears, not to mention zebra, rare white buffalo, llamas and more.
