ROCKVILLE, September 27th, 2012– Dawson’s Market will open on Saturday, September 29th at 7:00 am at Rockville Town Square. The natural foods grocer will house approximately 17,500 square feet of local and organic produce, meats, cheeses, wine & beer, prepared foods and baked goods, with a strong commitment to sourcing from local (within a 100 mile radius) farmers, growers and vendors. The locally-focused and independent grocer is a mission driven company completely determined by local community support. To commemorate the occasion, Dawson’s Market and Rockville Town Square will host a variety of community events.

Dawson’s Market Pavilion on the Square Dedication and Friday Night Concert
Friday, September 28th
6:30pm- Rockville Town Square celebrates their final Friday Night Live of the season with the band, Mambo Combo!
7:00pm- Dedication of the Dawson’s Market Pavilion by Mayor Marcuccio, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Federal Realty, Robin McBride, Dawson’s Market owner, Rick Hood, and others.
7:30pm- Performance by Mambo Combo.

10:00am - 4:00pm- Grand opening activities start and last all day:
• VisArts will host a cookie decorating station, pasta necklace making, chalkboard design and other kid friendly activities.
• Kids ages 5-12 are given the chance to design Dawson Market’s next paper bag design.
• Enjoy live music on the Dawson’s Market patio.
• Test your fruit & vegetable skills at our “Name That Produce” contest where you’ll have the chance to win a $75.00 gift card to the store.
