LOS ANGELES, September 23, 2013 — Welcome to The Washington Times Communities NFL chat for the Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos game. Please feel free to chime in and have your voice heard. Today you will interact with Communities football analyst, Eric Golub, as well as the Communities sports editor, Kevin J. Wells.
Oakland is vastly improved, but a win at home over lowly Jacksonville is not the same as going on the road and facing Denver. Terrelle Pryor is talented, and Darren McFadden ran for 129 yards last week. In 2002, on the 500th edition of Monday Night Football, the 2002 Raiders had lost four straight and trailed Denver by two games. The Raiders went into Denver, throttled the Broncos, and went to the Super Bowl History will not be repeating itself.
Denver is on a Super Bowl mission and Peyton Manning is playing like a man deserving a fifth MVP award. While most teams would worry about complacency, Manning just refuses to allow it. He will not take the Raiders lightly, even though this game is expected to be the equivalent of preseason.
Projection: The Broncos are favored by 15.5 points. The Broncos will win but fail to cover.
