LOS ANGELES, September 15, 2013 — Welcome to The Washington Times Communities NFL chat for the San Diego Chargers versus the Philadelphia Eagles. Please feel free to chime in and have your voice heard. Today you will interact with Communities football analyst, Eric Golub, as well as the Communities sports editor, Kevin J. Wells.
The Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) have incorporated new head coach Chip Kelly’s high-speed offense that he used while coaching the Oregon Ducks. Last week the Eagles got off to a huge first half lead against the Washington Redskins and then seemed to either take their foot of the gas or just run out of gas in the second half. The offense did not look as fast as it was at Oregon, but the season is young and the players are still getting used to the new system.
The Chargers will be making the trip to Philadelphia after losing in week 1 to the Houston Texans, 31-28. The sting from the loss should give them a little extra motivation, but beating the Eagles in Philadelphia will prove to be no easy task.
Prediction: The Eagles are favored by seven points. They will win, but will not cover the spread.
