AFC: Houston Texans at New England Patriots is the Sunday morning game to watch (4:30pm EST).
PLAY BY PLAY: Although both of these teams are 12-4, there is nobody outside of Houston who respects the Texans even with their wildcard win last week. Houston began 11-1 before losing 3 of 4 down the stretch to throw away the top seed and even the first round bye. Michelin Man Wade Phillips knows defense, but Tom Brady runs the offense of the decade that is as potent as ever. Houston has a suspect offense while New England has a very vulnerable defense. Evil Hoodie Bill Bellichick is the defensive guy while Gary Kubiak knows offense, yet both coaches know the deficiencies on their teams.
Fueling the fire is a column by New England sportswriter Dan Shaughnessy calling the Texans “Tomato cans” and this game a “bye week” for the Patriots. This may be arrogant, but he his right. What he will not admit is that the 2012 Patriots are frauds as well, just less so than Houston. A few weeks ago these teams met in New England and the Patriots blasted the Texans 42-14. There is nothing to suggest Houston will come anywhere close to getting revenge.
