NFL 2012 Week 12 Preview

Now that the food coma from Thanksgiving turkey and the craziness of Black Friday have worn off, it is time to get down to the business of football. Here is the NFL 2012 Week 12 preview. Photo: Redskins' Cedric Griffin breaks up pass in the Cowboys' end zone, winning 38-31 AP

LOS ANGELES, November 24, 2012 — NFL 2012 Week 12 is now upon us. While Narcotics For Leatherheads is a Pro Football column, a quick note about one college game is in order. Top ranked unbeaten Notre Dame’s  Fighting Irish are at the USC Trojans. I got my MBA at USC and normally would root for the Trojans. Yet Trojan Coach Lane Kiffin is the devil due to his stint with the Oakland Raiders. So I normally root against my own school until he is fired.

However, as a Jewish person I am not rooting for Notre Dame. Ever since the days of Lou Holtz, their fans were insufferable, acting like the Pope cares if they win a game. So this one time during the Kiffin era, USC is the choice. As for the point spread and all of that stuff, nobody cares about college football. Now back to the man’s game, the NFL.

My column is written before the Thursday game but not published until Saturday. So you can all see, I was 0 for 3 on Thanksgiving.

Now let’s get to the rest.

Houston Texans (3) @ Detroit Lions was the Thanksgiving morning game.

(Upset special: Lions win outright)

(Redskins win, but Cowboys cover)
