WILMINGTON, Del., October 11, 2013 - The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts hosts two FREE Family Sundays this Fall on Sunday, October 20 and November 17, 2013 and Kids Art Classes October 19 and November 9.
DCCA’s Family Sundays are a great way to introduce children to new concepts in art and expose them to the artistic process in a fun and inviting way. All ages are welcome and no registration is required. Guided family tours, classroom activities, and scavenger hunts through the galleries.

Calling all movers and shakers. Discover the exciting world of kinetic art this fall at the DCCA. Learn to create moving sculptures using different techniques, materials, and technologies.
Sunday, October 20
Noon - 3 p.m.
Spend a day exploring fabric painting in conjunction with the DCCA exhibition Legal Tender by artist Emily Erb. Turn rags into riches as you create your own currency designs using fabrics, paints, dyes, and more.
Sunday, November 17
Noon - 3 p.m.
Bring classic board games into the third dimension as you create a sculptural playground based on the exhibition Exurban Archipelago by artist Steven Baris. Make your own giant game pieces and get playing, or create game-inspired artwork using mixed-media techniques.
About the DCCA
The DCCA, a non-collecting art museum founded in 1979, presents over 30 exhibitions annually of regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized artists that explore topical issues in contemporary art and society, as well as symposia, lectures and tours. The DCCA rents individual studios to more than 25 artists, who also exhibit regularly within its galleries and throughout the region.
The DCCA presents a variety of educational and outreach programs, including programs that integrate contemporary arts into the public school curriculum, and artists’ residencies that feature collaboration with underserved community groups. The center is housed in a renovated industrial building at 200 South Madison St. in the heart of the rejuvenated Wilmington Riverfront.
