HOUSTON, June 9, 2013 — Angel Rivera is the CEO of Vera Wear and Vera Films, and he has come a long way since first being interviewed by Community Digital News back in January of 2012. At that time, he was trending on Twitter and growing his company.

Over the last year, the company, product, and direction have all grown and shifted. Vera Films has backed several internet shows including The Fever, and now Angel has realized his first full length film project entitled, High Grade, which already has attracted the interest of several heavy hitters.

The High Grade synopsis is as follows:

High Grade is a hilarious comedy thriller filled with action and excitement from beginning to end. Ace, Mike, and Dakota are college dropouts that share an apartment in Los Angeles along with a passion for getting high every day. After receiving a text meant for someone else, they locate a hundred pounds of pot that belong to the Mexican cartel, who are in the middle of a drug war, and are being staked out by the DEA. Now with the DEA and the cartel gunning for them, the three are on the run. They will have to stick together if they are going to make it out alive, and free. The twists and turns, the weed, the stakes, and the laughs, are all High Grade.

Why did Vera Films choose marijuana as the topic for its first full length feature?

“We have so many ideas and things that are actively being worked on,” says Angel, “but High Grade is one that just stood out. The subject of marijuana is one that has always been popular in our society, especially now with several states trying to legalize it and its use medicinally. I think the topic is great for a movie because it’s fun, young, and the script is hilarious. I don’t see this being above the other ideas; I just think this is the right one to put out first. I want our fans to enjoy something different and funny; I know this movie fits that mold.

“Seeing my vision come to life in script form is amazing, Phoebus Castle is the writer and he has done a tremendous job. I am excited to portray my character, Ace, and I am very excited that you [Carter Lee] will be acting in the movie with me, assisting with the writing, and will also be one of the producers. There are a few more heavy hitters I’m talking to, but I can’t reveal anything yet; but let’s just say the viewers and fans are in for many pleasant and big surprises.”

Vera Wear has truly turned into their moniker of a fashion-entertainment company; and now with a full length film in pre-production, it looks like the sky may not even be the limit!

I am the author of, When Jonathan Cried for Me, a story of struggle and redemption. I was once diagnosed with PTSD and depression because of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of a pedophile. I have spent the last four years of my life transforming myself from a broken person, into one with complete inner peace and no signs of those afflictions.

For most of my life, my only dream was to be in the sports entertainment industry, which I accomplished in my twenties by becoming a licensed professional wrestler, promoter and booker. After years in that industry – and many injuries later! – I realized that this was no longer my dream. I ventured into stage acting, stand-up comedy, and promoted bands in the local music scenes.

After years of trying to find my niche in life, I discovered my meaning in life, my purpose; I had an epiphany of what I was supposed to do. I started Innovative Social Dynamics LLC. Through my business I educate, inspire and challenge others to obtain positive transformation through the knowledge of the mind, science, and innovative philosophy. The tool for transformation and personal greatness exists inside of everyone. You can read more about me, my business and my book at http://www.whenjonathancriedforme.com
