HOUSTON, June 6, 2013 — Passionate, warm hearted, talented, and sexy are among the words that can be used to describe the artist who is Vinita, a rising young Indian star in pop music, working under the Artest Media Group (AMG).
AMG was founded by Metta World Peace, a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers. The two met in May of 2011 when Metta happened to be at her birthday party. She approached him, briefly sang for him and the rest is a wrap.
“I am a lot like the genre of pop music,” says Vinita, “fun, unpredictable, and entertaining. It defines who I am on many levels and it showcases me.”
Recently “E!” aired the video of her hit single “Whatchu Want” throughout the weekend and her popularity continues to grow.
She is currently on tour throughout California and has appeared in some of the hottest clubs throughout the country including Las Vegas. She will soon be featured on Metta World’s Passion Mixtape alongside artists Jim Jones, The Game and Tech N9ne.
This reporter recently had the pleasure of speaking with this beautiful young artist, learning that what makes her so special is her passion, compassion and drive. She works endless hours a day and has a zeal for learning that’s parallel to her heart for great causes.
“I work so endlessly because I believe anything is possible with hard work; everyday is a new day to shine. At the end of the day though, I want to make a difference.
“Through music, I want to become a household name and encourage children to pursue their dreams; furthermore I want to inspire more Indians to become involved in entertainment.
“My number one passion though, is animals. I really admire Betty White and the awareness she helps raise in the fight against the extinction of animals. I want to help her in that fight by raising public awareness of this time-sensitive and crucial issue. I view this industry as a platform for me to do this.”
In this modern day and age, music is flooded throughout social media like YouTube and Twitter. And television offers a plethora of shows centered on music, which has become both a positive and negative for musicians. It’s positive because more and more people are discovered because of these outlets. Often, however, it becomes a negative because many good musicians are overlooked and get lost in the shuffle. It seems that all too often the artists who do rise to fame seem to be overrated and stand for very little, other than fame and money. It’s refreshing to see that such a positive and talented artist like Vinita rise in an industry that often becomes oversaturated with these kinds of performers.
Vinita is an inspiration for young women, Indians, and anyone, who has a yearning and drive for their passion. No doubt this young woman’s name will soon be known all over the world.
