Rush Limbaugh and the double-standard hypocrisy of the Left

CHICAGO, March 5, 2012— First, and foremost, Rush Limbaugh was more than wrong to unleash an obscene and misogynist personal attack on Sandra Fluke.

It was inexcusable and deplorable.

That said there is a very definite, concise, and purposeful level of hypocrisy and double standard in the media and from the Left.

When their propaganda promoters unleash obscene, misogynist, racist, or anti- religious attacks, it is excused. One only needs to review MSNBC’s attack on Republican Laura Ingraham to know this.

They have every right to say whatever they want, make insincere apologies, and just move on. Move on is the Left’s mantra. It’s more politically palatable than “get over it”.

There are no attempts to blacklist people like Bill Mahr, Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Michael Moore, Larry Doyle, Matt Taibbi, Jesse Jackson, Mike Malloy, Al Sharpton, or Louis Farrakan, to name a few.

All have said deplorable, even disgusting things about individuals and groups.

They are allowed to apologize and, well, move on.

Once they apologized, the furor died down. Strange, but few on the Left attack them. Few in the media unleashed warfare on them. There are no social media blitzkriegs. There were few demands they be blacklisted. The stories were allowed to die, the quicker the better.

When someone on the right errs the calls for public lynching are fast and furious, especially from elected officials who took an oath to defend and uphold the Constitution.

Maybe they don’t think the First Amendment is part of the Constitution or it only applies to their “side.”

Rush Limbaugh, like his competition, has said outrageous things, and yes, this time he went too far. But he has lost advertisers, and apologized, and one hopes he has learned his lesson.

While Limbaugh’s condemnation is viral, the identified Liberal media and talking heads gets a relatively free pass.

The Left’s excuses are always the same; America is too puritanical, our guy is fighting the good fight for the right causes, get a life, he/she apologized, what more do you want, etc. Or they use the satire or parody argument to legitimize their people.

They make people feel intellectually inferior for not understanding.

This gives us a legitimate reason to doubt the sincerity of any apologies they make. The Right is not allowed those excuses. They are not allowed to move on or say, “get over it”. The Right is not allowed the intellectual argument of satire or parody. They must be severely punished, silenced, and blacklisted.

The Left makes the rules. Naturally, they are allowed to break them with impunity. Everyone else must play by their rules. They want the Right silenced so they are the only ones left talking. There is no objectivity or fair and balanced. They do not want that. The Left wants to be the only choir singing.

They act like mean angry little kids on the playground. “Shut up.” “No, you shut up.” “Oh, yeah, I’ll tell the teacher, she’ll shut you up.”

It goes much deeper than hypocrisy and decency. Rampant hatred is dominating public discourse in this country, from the Right and Left. There is a level of meanness; a snarling, drooling, bared fanged junkyard dog mentality, if you will.

It is a highly contagious pandemic. Both narratives have been taken over by political extremists, who when they are not hating each other, sow their hatred towards religion, race, ethnicity, sex, values, culture, or anyone and anything else.

They do not care about the collateral damage they create. Just apologize and keep spewing profane hate.

There is a total lack of decency in public discourse. There is also a total lack of accountability. As long as hate sells, generates campaign donations, and proves a successful tool, it will flourish.

If Rush Limbaugh is to suffer for his despicable attack on Ms. Fluke, then the all the others on the airwaves, Internet, and politics, should suffer just as horribly. That will not be the case. The Leftist toxic speech will continue as the are silencing others. They live and thrive off the bigger than big lie that there is free speech in America.

There is only free speech for them.

It is funny. The only people held accountable for shooting from the lip are sportscasters and writers. They get fired or disappeared someplace when they insult or put out something outrageous.

Sports is the only sector of the media that holds its people accountable for what they say, write, tweet, or put on other social media.

Companies who advertise their wares and services should immediately cut their ties to any and all that promote hatred, obscenity, or profanity over the airwaves and Internet.

People should stop watching or listening to the hate mongers and vulgarity vultures.

If politicians spew hatred even it is couched in oblique dulcet terms, campaign contributions should dry up and so should voters. We, as the consumers and voters, should go after each and every one of them.

That should guarantee offensive people are taken off the air and hateful politicians do not get elected.

Dream on. It will never happen.

By next week, Limbaugh will have new advertisers, maybe some of the competitors of the ones he lost. All will be forgotten in the warp speed news cycle.

Some new scandalous issue will over shadow this. It will fade into the vortex of the ether.

The Left, will continue their hate filled, vulgar, and persecuting attacks with no consequences.

It is all hypocrisy as usual.
