CHICAGO, June 26, 2012— Aaron Worthing is an attorney in Virginia and a conservative blogger. Aaron Worthing is a victim of pseudo-political activist Brett Kimberlin AKA the Speedway Bomber.
The tale of Mr. Worthing, whose name is actually Walker, is long and tortuous. Mr. Worth’s first “crime” was giving legal advice to Seth Allen, a left wing blogger and victim of Brett Kimberlin’s legal terrorism. Seth Hill exposed Kimberlin’s past as the Speedway Bomber on left wing websites.
Worthing’s next “crime” was writing about Brett Kimberlin. In Brett Kimberlin’s, and a jurist in Maryland’s eyes, writing about the Speedway Bomber is illegal, even though he is a public personality and a public political activist and musician.
Brett Kimberlin launched an all out legal and PSYOP war against Mr. Worthing. Kimberlin convinced a judge to issue a “peace order” prohibiting Aaron Worthing from writing about him.
You read that right. For six months Worthing could not say one word about or mention Brett Kimberlin on his blog by court order. It appears some Maryland jurists never heard of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Aaron Worthing allegedly violated that order and was arrested. Kimberlin and his minions, cohorts, and clowns, spread false stories on the Internet that Aaron Worthing was arrested for assaulting Kimberlin and was facing ten years in prison.
Yesterday, a judge rescinded the order and set a hearing date in July. Several hours later a SWAT team showed up at Mr. Worthing’s home.
Apparently there was a call that he had killed his wife. It did not take the police very long to determine it was a hoax.
There is a dangerous pattern here.
It appears anyone who annoys Brett Kimberlin gets “SWATted”. There is no proof, yet, that Brett Kimberlin is directly responsible for the SWATting events. It is just one of those weird coincidences of life that people who refuse to be terrorized by Mr. Kimberlin have SWAT teams show up at their homes.
Aaron Worthing incurred legal fees, lost his job, and suffered emotional distress. Brett Kimberlin did not only legally terrorize Aaron Worthing he legally and psychologically tortured him.
Kimberlin has become a darling of the left and Democratic power brokers upon his release from prison in 2001. As we say in Chicago he has clout.
How else does one explain how a convicted dope dealer, forger, terrorist bomber, and perjurer could get well known people, foundations, and the State Department to support him to the tune of 1.8 million dollars since 2005 without performing any due diligence.
Mr. Kimberlin lives in the sphere of the digital world where there is no reality. It is the world of conspiracy theories, myths, and rumors. It is a realm where the extreme right and left sides of the political spectrum combine in a dangerous stew of misinformation and disinformation.
Where fact is fiction and fiction is fact. There are no rules or laws except the ones they make up.
In any other state Brett Kimberlin would be in prison for his vexatious, frivolous, and serial abuse of the legal system. Brett Kimberlin is allegedly wired into the party. He is untouchable.
Brett Kimberlin is immune in Maryland for all intents and purposes. Which is probably why he never filed actions against Andrew Breitbart, Glen Beck, Michelle Malkin, American Spectator, or other media entities. They live and operate in states that respect the rule of law and the rules of legal procedure.
They also have the financial and legal resources to go after Kimberlin in federal court. Under federal law it is illegal to undermine, impede, or obstruct another person’s constitutional rights. Kimberlin does that openly and notoriously.
All it takes is one person, a tenacious good attorney(s), and a boatload of cash to defeat him. Then, every night Brett Kimberlin will hear a very familiar sound. The sound of a prison cell door clanking shut.
Writers, no matter their political persuasion or ideology, should never fear legal retribution, legal terrorism, or psycho-legal-political torture.
This is America.
This is not an ideological issue. This issue affects all writers no matter their political persuasion. This is an issue for anyone who enters the world of political reporting, journalism, or merely blogging.
