NYC school system and Greta Hawkins supports un-Americanism

“And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.” (Proud to be an American/Lee Greenwood)

CHICAGO, June 10, 2012— Greta Hawkins is principal of PS 90, the Edna Cohen School, in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Ms. Hawkins either hates America, is embarrassed to be an American, or just plain stupid.

Ms. Hawkins nixed a plan for children singing “Proud to be an American” at a kindergarten graduation ceremony, including the children waving American flags while singing the song.

The reason for her decision is ridiculous. She did not want to offend the tender sensitivities of other cultures, the parents and families attending the ceremony.

Hawkins changed her story when there was uproar and the media reported the controversy. She claimed the patriotic song was not age appropriate. She is not only un-American she is a liar.

She replaced “Proud to be an American” with the more culturally sensitive and age appropriate song, Justin Bieber’s flirty “Baby”. The children do not have to wave those detested American flags either.

It only gets worse. After several complaints and the media exposure the New York City Department of Education is supporting this nonsense. New York Schools Chancellor, Dennis Walcott is also standing by the principal.

“You have to really wonder about some of the lyrics in the song, so I have to rely on the principal’s judgment along that line.” (New York Post) Greta Hawkins will get her way.

The age inappropriate lyrics? “If tomorrow all the things were gone/I’d worked for all my life/And I had to start again/with just my children and my wife.”

What is culturally insensitive or age inappropriate- worked, children, wife or all of them?

It is now officially culturally sensitive and age appropriate to be un-American and un-patriotic. Flirty songs are age appropriate and culturally sensitive for five year olds. American educators are waiting with baited breath for Mayor Bloomberg’s imprimatur so the rest of the nation can follow suit.

It is hard to tell whether New York’s Department of Education and school Chancellor Walcott are serious or just defending sheer stupidity.

Ms. Hawkins previously tried ending the daily recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and singing of America the Beautiful. She has a record of being unpatriotic and un-American in the name of age appropriateness and cultural sensitivity.

It seems Ms. Hawkins, like the majority of the education cartel, has a problem with anything American or patriotic, including the American flag. There have been efforts to remove it from classrooms in some areas because it may offend some cultures.

The National Anthem, patriotic songs, flag displays, or anything that celebrates America are to be scrupulously avoided in American public schools.

What will we be subjected to next? The violent images of “rockets red glare the bombs bursting in air” of the National Anthem being age inappropriate. Maybe the Anthem could be replaced with Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”. It’s easier to sing, perform and you can dance to it.

Of course “God Bless America” and the lyrics from “America the Beautiful”, “America! America! God shed His grace on thee”, definitely offend the tender sensitivities of some and are age inappropriate. They could be replaced with more sensitive and age appropriate tunes  “Do you think I’m Sexy” and “Bootylicious”.

The Pledge of Allegiance has been under serious attack for the line “One Nation Under God”. That could be replaced with the more sensitive and age appropriate “One world, one people, one love”.

Diversity and multi-culturalism are false ideologies inflicted on us by academia. They are infecting our society. The education system is forcing our children and us to accept them as gospel.

Patriotism is not to be tolerated, is culturally insensitive, and age inappropriate. The mumbo-jumbo of multi-culturalism and diversity are the only acceptable tenets to the exclusion of all else.

Academic intellectual idiots, Mensa Moron bureaucrats, half-wit union officials, and crepuscular cretin principals run the education cartel. This is America. We are Americans. If American educators are promoting false ideologies they should go live and teach someplace else. Better, they should be unemployed and unemployable.

Why are we allowing these people to teach our children, develop curriculums, and administer our schools? Where is the outrage over this?

Greta Hawkins should be fired. Chancellor Walcott and anyone in his Department of Education should be fired for supporting her. But, teachers and educational bureaucrats are a protected class. They are rarely if ever fired for outrageous stupidity or outlandish idiocy. Those are acceptable qualities in the education cartel. Defending the indefensible is perfectly appropriate.

Greta Hawkins is proof of that. In the past she had been merely reprimanded for making insensitive and racist statements to her staff.

The education cartel should be sent a strong message. There is only one way to do this. Fire any and all people like Greta Hawkins and those who support and defend them. People should demand better from teachers, principals, and bureaucrats responsible for teaching American children.
