WASHINGTON, November 7, 2013 — They oversee RFK Stadium and Nationals Park. They run the Washington Convention Center and Carnegie Library. And now Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia, wants to get you a job.
In collaboration with Goodwill of Greater Washington, Events DC will host on Friday one of its last job training program application sessions for career opportunities with Marriott Marquis Washington, DC. Earlier this year Goodwill received a workforce development contract to, “recruit, prepare, train and refer up to 600 District residents for hospitality jobs in cooperation with Marriott International, Inc,” according to an Events DC press release.
Friday’s event will include remarks from Mayor Vincent C. Gray and the CEOs of both organizations. Human resource directors from Marriott International, Inc and the DC Department of Employment Services will be there as well.
The event takes place from 12-1pm at the Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School at 1100 Harvard Street, NW, Washington DC 20009. To find out more, visit: www.hospitality.dcgoodwill.org
