Arlington County asking for Secret Santas

WASHINGTON, DC, November 18, 2013 — The Department of Human Services in Arlington County is asking its citizens to be Santa this holiday season.

The County is asking Arlington residents to donate gift cards from grocery stores, drug stores, clothing stores, and department stores to help local needy families and children in foster care. DHS will only accept gift cards, not actual gifts, which allows recipients to buy what they believe they need most.

Gift cards should not exceed $25, although multiple gift cards are allowed. Arlington’s DHS will accept all gift cards until Dec. 17 at:
