WASHINGTON, December 19, 2013 — Governor–elect Terry McAuliffe has made two more cabinet appointments.
McAuliffe reappointed Todd Haymore as the secretary of agriculture and forestry. Haymore held the same position under Republican Governor Bob McDonnell and has served Democrat Tim Haine’s administration as the commissioner of the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
McAuliffe named former Hampton Mayor Molly Joseph Ward to the position of secretary of natural resources. She had stepped down as mayor last September to take the position of Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director for the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.
Some other key appointments already made by McAullife are Bill Hazel as health secretary, Nancy Rodrigues as secretary of administration and Karen Jackson as secretary of technology. Both whom previously served in the Kaine administration. Secretary of the commonwealth will be McAuliffe’s deputy campaign manager and a former GreenTech Automotive executive, Levar Stoney. Aubrey Lane, who worked in both the McDonnell and Kaine administrations, will be the transportation secretary and Brian J. Moran, a former Arlington County prosecutor, was named as secretary of public safety.
The governor-elect has three more Cabinet positions to fill before his inauguration Jan. 11.
