WASHINGTON, June 21 — D.C. United’s game against Italian champions Juventus F.C. has been called off. The Italians have cancelled their presseason tour of the USA which would have included three games.

United issued the following statement regarding the Herbalife World Football Challenge match with Juventus FC, scheduled for July 28:

“We’ve received word that Juventus FC will no longer be playing in Washington, D.C.  While we’re disappointed with the news, D.C. United is already in discussions with another, major European team to fill that date and will share opponent and ticketing details as a deal is finalized.”

The club is working to find another team to play.

In other news, there’s a possibility that Ben Olsen might be called in to coach the MLS All-Stars when they play European Champions Chelsea F.C. on July 25 in Philadelphia.
