WASHINGTON, August 29, 2011—Major League Soccer today announced the postponed match between D.C. United and the Portland Timbers, originally scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 27 but called-off due to Hurricane Irene, has been set for Wednesday, Oct. 19. The match will kickoff at 8 p.m. at RFK Stadium. Tickets from the original contest, bearing the date of Aug. 27, will be valid on Oct. 19.
The newly-scheduled match means United will play its final three games of the regular season in just seven days—with all three contests played at its home ground of RFK Stadium (Saturday, Oct. 15 vs. Chicago Fire, Wednesday, Oct. 19 vs. Portland Timbers, and Saturday, Oct. 22 vs. Sporting Kansas City). United also hosts Chivas USA on Wednesday, Sept. 21 and Real Salt Lake on Saturday, Sept. 24. Kickoff times for games other than the rescheduled Portland date remain at 7:30 p.m.
