Mapp leaves Fire; Raul leaves Real Madrid

Former D.C. United midfielder Justin Mapp has been traded from Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire to the expansion Philadelphia Union for allocation money.

Former D.C. United midfielder Justin Mapp has been traded from Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire to the expansion Philadelphia Union for allocation money. Mapp was drafted by D.C. United as the league’s fourth overall pick in 2002 and joined the Fire a year later. At United he only played 28 minutes in three games in 2002.

He had 14 goals and 36 assists in 174 games with the Fire. He made five international appearances for the U.S. national team.


Spanish legend Raul Gonzalez is leaving Real Madrid after 15 seasons with the Spanish giant.Raul said was a “a very hard day” as “football has been my life and Real Madrid my home and together we have lived unique moments,” when he announced he was leaving the team on Monday.

Raul made his Madrid debut in 1994 and spent his entire career at the club winning three three Champions League and six La Liga titles.The 33-year-old is reportedly set to join German club Schalke
