Washington Freedom names roster

Washington Freedom listed its roster today for the 2010 WPS season. The team plays a preseason match (Kicks Against Breast Cancer) against the University of North Carolina on Saturday, April 3 at 2PM at the Maryland SoccerPlex.

Washington Freedom listed its roster today for the 2010 Women’s Professional Soccer. 

The roster is comprised of thirteen veteran Washington Freedom players, including national team members Cat Whitehill and Abby Wambach. Lene Mykjåland is a new addition from Norway to add to the team’s international contingent that already includes Homare Sawa of Japan, Sonia Bompastor of France, Lisa De Vanna of Australia, and Erin McLeod of Canada.

Marisa Abegg, Beverly Goebel, Meagan McCray, and Caitlin Miskel will be joining the team as developmental players. 

The Freedom plays a preseason match (Kicks Against Breast Cancer) against the University of North Carolina on Saturday, April 3 at 2PM at the Maryland SoccerPlex. The WPS regular season opens the following weekend as Freedom hosts Boston Breakers on Saturday, April 10 at the Maryland SoccerPlex beginning at 7PM.
