Boston, June 26, 2012 — I have a celebrity crush on Alyssa Milano.

I know this makes me just one of a zillion dudes across the world, but it doesn’t matter. We all watched Alyssa grow up on “Who’s The Boss.” She later starred as the sexiest witch of all time on the hugely successful “Charmed” TV series for eight seasons.

Lately, Alyssa has become a successful businesswoman with her innovative Touch Sports line for women. She’s now married, a proud Mom, and has a new TV series “Mistresses” that is set to air on ABC.

A full plate? Yes indeed! But Alyssa still finds time to support many important charities.

I don’t have space to list every great charity that Alyssa supports, but I’d like to highlight a couple.

Best Friends Animal Society takes care of many animals in need. Their goal and their passion is to make sure that every homeless and unwanted pet is given a loving home. Countless animals have been saved because of this organization’s work.

Michael Vick’s Pit Bulls? Best Friends was the group to step forward and work with those poor animals to comfort them and give them happy homes. You can’t go wrong with this group. It’s run by incredibly kind people doing great things for animals who otherwise have no voices of their own. Alyssa is an animal lover and has supported Best Friends. I urge you to do the same!

UNICEF is one of the most respected charity organizations in the world. Alyssa has worked very hard over the past 9 years to support UNICEF and has helped thousands of lives.

Here’s the scoop from the UNICEF Website:

Since her appointment as a UNICEF Ambassador in 2003, Alyssa has been influential in raising funds and awareness for UNICEF and its mission of saving and improving the lives of children worldwide. She has traveled with UNICEF to Angola, India, and Kosovo and works tirelessly to spread the word and raise funds to support UNICEF by actively participating in its initiatives.

“I think that celebrity is a really important thing, because we have the voice that’s recognizable, that can educate and empower people to make a difference,” Alyssa says.

So what can YOU do to help a great cause that is close to Alyssa’s heart? That’s simple. Follow Alyssa on Twitter. In addition to entertaining and informative tweets, you’ll learn about some great causes you might want to support.

Small donations to these causes are fantastic. Alyssa has a huge fan base. When her fans get together, they are able to make a huge difference. Do it. Make a difference in the world. Join Alyssa Milano and help make this world a better place.
