LIVE CHAT: The Voice - Battle Rounds with Cher - Tonight 8:00 p.m.

WASHINGTON, October 9, 2013 – Last night The Voice brought the team building, blind editions to an end with judges, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilara, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green getting into a bit of good natured, verbal fisticuffs over the last few singers.

The competition seems to be well matched this month with no real clear powerhouse team in evidence yet, even though there are clearly some powerhouse voices in the current mix.

Cee Lo Green was the last to fill his team slots, and his crew is already being hallmarked as the weakest of the group. However, there is still plenty of voice power on this team.

Cee Lo grabbed 23-year-old Tamara Chauneice who sang Beyonce’s  “1+1.” Her gospel inspired voice had all the chairs spinning around, even as Cee Lo’s obvious appreciation of the artist extended considerably beyond her vocal powers in a rather creepy way.

Cee Lo also added Lupe Carroll, winging Bobby Darin’s “If I Were A Carpenter.” Previously Green picked up Jonny Gray, singing “All These Things That I’ve Done” (above), an Air Force veteran from Austin and a personal favorite.

Would be fun to see his Eddie Vedder vibe take The Voice.

Also standing out last night was Grey, a 25 year-old wedding singer who wowed the judges and the audience with a clean rendition of Kelly Clarkson’s “Catch My Breath” leaving  Xtina the only chair that did not spin. Grey, along with Matt Cermanski, who came back for a second audition this season, made it onto Adam’s team.

Blake Shelton, who is being called “cocky” after three wins, rounded his team out with the addition of plaid shirt wearing Brandon Chase and Brian Pounds who sang Darius Rucker’s “Wagon Wheel.”.

The competition between Green and Shelton for Pounds found Cee Lo, upon losing the contestant, muttering that he was beginning to “not like this guy,” referring to Shelton who did a bit of a victory jig just to rub it in.

Shelton may find himself ruing those earlier catches as Cee Lo was the only judge left when, wearing a belt-buckle proclaiming him as “Big Sexy,” war veteran Shawn Smith grabbed audience support while signing the Zac Brown Band’s “Country Fried.”

Team Xtina will include Michael Lynch, one of the truly unique acts of the night. The full-blooded Irish singer took off with Enrique Iglesias’ “Bailamos” and Xtina spun around immediately.  Adding some fun to the night, Christina joined Lynch for a short duet of the “Bailamos” chorus.

Tonight the Battle Rounds commence with the extra-added attraction of special star guest Cher. Obviously, you just gotta be there.

Join our  Live Chat tonight as we watch the singers and the judges battle round it out! Keep it right here beginning at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
