WEST PALM BEACH, Fl, March 16, 2013 – Iconic rapper Lil Wayne is recovering in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a seizure while working on a music video for Nicki Minaj’s new single, High School.
Original reporting suggested Wayne was “receiving last rights” and in “critical condition,” but his record label and private publicist today officially announced is recovering well.
Sarah Cunningham, a representative of Wayne’s label Young Money officially confirmed today that Lil Wayne did suffer a seizure but that he “is recovering.” Wayne’s personal publicist, Kia Selby supported the announcement, stating, “Lil Wayne is doing well.”
Yesterday, President of Young Money Entertainment Mack Maine, who sources confirmed was at the hospital, tweeted, “Wayne is alive and well! We watching the Syracuse game…thaks for the prayers and concern..he will update you all soon. #love.”
Another tweet on Wayne’s Twitter site, reportedly written by the musician, said, “I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.”
Although hospital staff refused to comment, citing privacy concerns, an unnamed hospital source did tell the Communities the information from the label “seems consistent” with what he is seeing at the hospital.
Wayne has suffered in the past for seizure-like symptoms. In October 2012, he was hospitalized for those symptoms and doctors prescribed anti-seizure medication. There are also rumors of other hospital visits to deal with seizure-like symptoms.
