NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. August, 2012—The same family behind RTR bakery, a wholesale company that supplies top hotels with their bread, just opened Pandor, a retail bakery with French artisan breads, pastries, paninis and salads.
The name, Pandor, was inspired by the French words for golden bread, Pain d’Or. Husband-and-wife Owners, Raffi and Tiffany Sepetjian, created the concept after multiple visits to France, in part to satisfy their own craving for the baked goods they came to know in their travels.
“My husband and I have always loved to travel, and France has been a favorite destination of ours. Now, with three children, we find it hard to go to Europe to satiate our desire for authentic French baked goods,” explained Tiffany.
They hired French master bakers to create the authentic flavors and textures of fruit tarts, almond and chocolate croissants, brioche, baguettes. The croissants in particular are buttery, flaky goodness defined. Try the almond for pastry nirvana.
Some unbeatable sandwiches to try include their take on Grilled vegetable panini or the tuna with capers, Maui onions and Vermont cheddar. The Habano comes with tender roast pork, cured ham, pickled jalapeños, Swiss cheese and deli mustard on a baguette.
They also brew an exceptional cappuccino, the kind you have to admire before sipping.
