Images from the Conference of folks we know, we will know and do not know... but they are interesting...

WASHINGTON, February 9, 2011 – The 2012 Conservative Political Action Conference leaped out of the starting gate with thousands of conservative activists excited to be amongst their tribe.

Senator Marc Rubio (R-FL) kicked off the events with quick jabs at President Obama criticizing the birth control mandate and calling for America to join together once again to fix the state of our union, saying:

“Unlike any leader in modern American history, we are led today by a president that has decided to pit Americans against each other,” Rubio thundered. “The basic argument he is making to our nation is that the reason why some of us are worse off than we used to be is because other people are doing too well. That the only way for some of us to do better is for some people to do worse.”

Rubio is widely considered to be a number one choice for the Vice Presidential spot.

Also speaking were Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and Rand Paul, who spoke to a full crowd that was less vocal than for his father, however politely attentive and appreciative to the Senator from Kentucky.

Saturday starts off with Mike Huckabee and candidates Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney.

Friday's events were fairly quiet and understated; far from the frenetic, college frat party atmosphere that the many students for Ron Paul brought to CPAC last year.
