PHOENIX, September 5, 2011- On Monday, President Obama celebrated Labor Day at an AFL-CIO rally in Detroit, Michigan. However, instead of celebrating the labor force, the day quickly dissolved into a cesspool of liberal hypocrisy.
It all started off when president of the Teamsters labor union, Jimmy Hoffa Jr. took to the stage to introduce the president and began preaching his ideological belief that the Tea Party is waging war on America and the work force.
"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere - it is the Tea Party. And you know there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is that we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war," Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.
As Hoffa continued, ignoring Obama’s call for civility back in January, he said, "President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these sons of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong."
Where’s the civility in that?
“Take these sons of bitches out,” could be translated into let’s kill the Tea Party and Republicans.
Let’s back up a minute though.
Back in January of this year, when Jared Loughner shot Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, the left quickly blamed former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for the shooting, citing a map of 20 districts, called “Take Back the 20,” that had crosshairs on them.
The intention of the map was to outline 20 districts of representatives that voted for ObamaCare. Rep. Gifford’s district had a crosshair on it. Sarah Palin was absolutely berated by the left for doing this. The Democratic media did everything in their power to destroy her while conveniently forgetting that Democrats have used crosshairs in the past as well.
Then as President Obama and many others joined Hoffa in honor Rep. Giffords and those also injured or killed in that horrible attack, Obama called for a new tone of civility.
"At a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized - at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do - it's important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds," President Obama said. “If, as has been discussed in recent days, their deaths help usher in more civility in our public discourse, let us remember that it is not because a simple lack of civility caused this tragedy — it did not — but rather because only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face up to our challenges as a nation, in a way that would make them proud.”
V.P. Joe Biden points out that Tea Party members and Republicans are terrorists and barbarians once again.
Based on this sound bite, you’d expect Obama to say to Hoffa please refrain from the tone of language he was using earlier, right? Calling for the Teamsters “take these sons of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong."
Think again.
Shortly after Obama took the stage, he said, “…Some proud sons and daughters of Michigan, representing working people here and across the country, Teamster President, Jimmy Hoffa.”
President Obama didn’t call him out. As of now, the White House has no comment on Jimmy Hoffa Jr.’s remarks.
Meanwhile at another rally in Cincinnati, Ohio, Vice President Joe Biden said in reference to the Tea Party: “You are the only folks keeping the barbarians from the gates.”
So there you have it, the Vice President calling his fellow Americans “barbarians” and a labor leader wanting to “take these sons of bitches out,” without a condemnation from Obama.
Just another day in the land of liberal hypocrisy. So much for Obama’s call for civility.
