PHOENIX, June 13, 2011 - As 13,000 emails of the former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, were released on Friday, the Liberal main-stream media scurried down to Juneau, Alaska to collect 24,000 pages of what they thought could be a damning story.
Dozens of major news publications released the 24,000 pages online to find something to smear the possible 2012 Republican contender, but their search came out dry.
Instead, what they found was a hard-at-work governor leading the great state of Alaska.
In detail, the emails display her down-to-earth tenure as governor and the policies she put in place while serving the 49th state.
For example, one email reads, when it comes to keeping a budget, “Budgets grew outrageously the past few weeks, I can not allow this unsustainable spending in both cap and operating.”
She also showed her deep faith in God, asking for guidance on the budget, “I have been praying for wisdom on this ... God will have to show me what to do on the people's budget because I don't yet know the right path ... He will show me though.”
Palin also talks about vetoing any unconstitutional bills that may hit her desk. “If they do in fact violate [the] constitution, I will veto the items.”
Another email reads,”Thank you so much for your vision, leadership, and support.”
Sorry media, nothing damning here.
However, there is a damning story to make from this, the media. Every major news organization went to Alaska to collect their boxes of emails, and then subsequently released them online to start the frenzy.
Even the Washington Post and the New York Times enlisted their readers to help dig through them.
Isn’t that their job?
It was ridiculous and somewhat creepy.
There were no sex scandals, no lewd twitter photos, no misuse of taxpayer dollars, and no malicious behavior, whatsoever. Just a governor doing her job.
Plus, once the New York Times and the Washington Post realized Palin wasn’t sexting college students, they reluctantly reported that Palin was a hard working governor.
So in the end, it really was a good thing that Gov. Palin’s emails were released. It painted the true narrative of Sarah Palin, not the one the media attempts to sell you.
