Kaiser Permanente promotes healthy living with Hawaii Sports Festival

HONOLULU, June 12, 2013 – Kaiser Permanente will be bringing to Hawaii the third annual ESPN 1420 Sports Festival on Saturday, June 29 at the Neil Blaisdell Center. Promoting health and fitness as a lifestyle, the free event will feature numerous activities for attendees to test their personal fitness and the opportunity to consult with a registered KP dietitian for nutrition questions.

The highly anticipated event will also host celebrity athlete autograph signing opportunities, free giveaways including the opportunity to win tickets to any Alaska Airlines destination, sports drink sampling, a farmer’s market and special activities for all ages.

“The ESPN 1420 Sports Festival presented by Kaiser Permanente is a true celebration of sports, health and fitness in our island community,” ESPN 1420 president and general manager Mike Kelly said in a media release. “Now in its third year, we’re excited to build upon our past efforts and continue to inspire individuals and families to keep moving. We’re proud to partner with Kaiser Permanente to present this fun-filled, interactive family event that showcases the latest trends and innovations in island sports while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.”

Some 65 vendors will also be present at the festival. The free event will be held at the Neil Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall on June 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and celebrity athlete autographs will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Honolulu.
