FREDERICK, Md., May 6, 2012 — The UFC 3 Fox MMA results are in.

Main Event: Nate Diaz v Jim Miller

Last night the controversial Nate Diaz faced Jim Miller for the chance to be the next challenger for the lightweight title. Miller pushed the pace early using his boxing and wrestling to close the distance between himself and his opponent.

Diaz, the much taller fighter, fought back using his long range to keep Miller at bay and his submission skills to counter Miller’s wrestling. Miller did get the fight to the ground but was unable to control Diaz. The fight finished in the second round after Diaz slipped in a gruesome guillotine choke that almost caused Miller to bite his out tongue off.

The televised undercard was full of surprises. Heavyweight newcomer, Lavar Johnson fought from behind to earn a well-deserved victory against the very dangerous veteran, Pat Barry.

At middleweight, Alan Belcher proved to be the better mixed martial artist against Rusimar Palares, defeating his opponent with a stifling mix of grappling and strikes on the ground.

Welterweight standout Jonny Hendricks earned a controversial split decision in his fight with welterweight top contender, Josh Koscheck.
