After spending several days touring the museums and gardens of the Brandywine Valley, I am looking forward to going back for a culinary tour. The Brandywine Valley, encompassing Northern Delaware and part of Southeastern Pennsylvania, has a long tradition of culinary innovation. Know as the “mushroom capital”, the valley is also home to several wineries and specialty producers.
The Chester County Conference and Visitors Bureau is making my visit easy by organizing a fun-filled weekend celebrating food and wine in the Brandywine Valley on July 16 through 18, 2010. The three-day, two-night culinary “camp” includes personal experiences with chefs, restaurateurs, and wine makers. Activities include:
Friday, July 16
Arrival/”Winemaking & Barrel Aging Cellars”, Picnic Dinner & Wine Tasting, Concert Under the Stars at Chaddsford Winery
Saturday, July 17
Mushrooms: “Delicious & Versatile”, The Mushroom Cap
Cheese & Condiments: “The Perfect Pair”, Talula’s Table Gourmet Market
