WASHINGTON, May 16, 2012 — Finally two politicians who can satirize at themselves even as they work across the aisle to give us those laughs. And you thought bipartisanship was dead.

New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie and Newark’s Democratic Mayor Cory Booker just released a hilarious spoof of themselves ala Seinfeld and his nemesis Newman on the Governor’s Youtube channel.

Shown originally at the New Jersey Legislative Correspondent Club dinner on May 15, it’s become an instant hit as the two men poke fun at Booker’s hero image and Christie’s image as the guy who can’t quite make it past number two in the hero department. Remember Booker is the politician that rescued a family from their burning home and this past winter was on the streets of Newark snow shoveling his neighbors’ sidewalks.

But what sends the video parody into hilarious is Christie’s marvelous channeling of Jerry Seinfeld as he’s thwarted time and again by Booker. That is until the end when Mitt Romney calls.

Don’t want to spoil the fun of video, so no matter your political party, just sit back and have fun. Then wish we had more Bookers and Christies who know how to laugh at themselves and get us to laugh along with them.
