WASHINGTON, August 26, 2012 — For Republicans, it is not all business, nominations, speeches, and schmoozing. The nearly 50,000 delegates, alternate delegates, media, and other guests who are flocking to Tampa for the Republican National Convention this week, despite Hurricane Isaac, will be treated to top level entertainment all week long.
“We’ve booked outstanding performers and world-famous acts,” explained RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “Everything from pop and rock to country and gospel.”
One of the highlights will be the worldwide premiere of “One Light,” the new single from 3 Doors Down, the Grammy Award-winning rock group that sold more than 20 million recordings since its debut in 2000.
Since the first day of the Convention had to be canceled thanks to Hurricane Isaac, that means the opening acts of Oak Ridge Boys, Conrad Oberg, and Lynyrd Skynyrd will have to be move to different days.
